Welcome to the Monticello Community School District! The District serves students in the town of Monticello and surrounding areas. The District has four buildings within the city limits:
- Shannon Elementary (Grades PreK-1st)
- Carpenter Elementary (Grades 2-4)
- Monticello Middle School (Grades 5-8)
- Monticello High School (Grades 9-12)
We passed a bond vote for September 11, 2018 for a new Middle School Building, grades 5-8, which will be attached to our current High School. For more information click here.
Shannon Elementary also houses our before and after school child care and summer program called Panther Academy. For more information on Panther Academy please visit their page or call Panther Academy Director, Tammy Helgens at 465-5425 OR 465-3000 extension 4212 OR email: firstname.lastname@example.org
We also have a Transition School. Kindergarten Round Up for students entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2020 is scheduled for January 6 thru January 31, 2020 at Shannon School from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. At this time parents will be asked to complete some informational forms. A health form, dental form, physical form (with lead screening), and an immunization card will be provided. Completed immunizations and a dental exam are required by law for all students entering Kindergarten. Some of the series of vaccines take six (6) months to complete. Start now to make sure all needed immunizations are completed before your child starts school in the fall. 2020-21 Kindergarten students do not need to attend this special Round Up event. Students must turn 5 years of age on or before September 15, 2020 to attend Kindergarten. If you have any questions please call Shannon Elementary Secretary Sandy Hinrichs at 319-465-3000, ext. 4114.
August Registration Information
We hold our annual school registration in August for all of our schools.
Our registration process will be the same as last year. You will have the option to pay online for fees (including lunch account deposits). If you choose to pay online, you are not required to come to the high school to register and may use a credit card to pay. A convenience fee of 3.61% will be charged at checkout for the convenience of making your online payment. Check back for more info!
If you decide not to pay online and come in to register, you will be able to pay for all of your fees in one transaction (cash or check only, credit cards will only be accepted online).
Schedules, agendas, padlocks, etc. can be picked up on the first day of school. High School materials will be available to pick up at Open House.
eRegistration is required for all students (whether you pay online or come in to register).
Parents can now go through the eRegistration process. Login to your PowerSchool account and begin registering your students. If you need instructions on how to do this, click to download the eRegistration instructions here. Parents with new students to the district can download this instruction document also.
If you have forgotten your user name or password for PowerSchool, a link is provided on the parent login page for PowerSchool. Click on “forgot username or password” link on that page. If you are having trouble with the eRegistration process, staff will be available in the High School computer lab on Registration day to help those with questions.
Please call the District Office at 319-465-3000 if you have any questions!
