New Families

Hello and welcome to the Monticello Community School District! We are excited that you might be a part of the Panther Community. This page can help new families to the district with any questions you might have.

How do I enroll my child(ren)? – Complete the ONLINE REGISTRATION(OLR)!
(This is ONLY for a new student and not if you have existing students already registered at one of our schools. If you have multiple new students coming into the district, you may enter them all in one application.  Once your student application has been processed through by a secretary, they will be added to your parent account. Fees will be assessed to your child upon secretary approval.)

What Parents Say About MCSD:

“We have loved having our family be part of The Monticello Community School District.  Our children had both educational and extracurricular opportunities that we are thankful for. The school and community support for students is phenomenal as is seen in the completion for our new middle school. Go Panthers!”

“Each student is cared for individually, teachers here prove that every day in their actions. It’s so nice to be part of a small school district that sees the advantages of continuing to challenge students and strive to be the best.”

“We chose to raise our family in Monticello because we have family here that can help. Raising kids takes a village, right? As our kids entered elementary school though, we’ve been continually impressed with the support and care that our kids have received. Their teachers seem to find ways to spark a love of school and learning for them, that’s something we couldn’t achieve on our own. To be honest, I used to be ashamed that I still lived in my hometown because it felt like that meant we weren’t successful (what does that even mean, anyways? And why is that an idea that is passed around to feel bad about?) but in reality, you can obtain a quality education (post high school), find a well-paying job in nearby community (I wasn’t sure how to include this, but I think many folks leave Monticello to go to Cedar Rapids or Dubuque for work) and still have the benefit of living in a small community!”

“Monticello is a great little community. The School District is always looking forward and really values citizen input when choosing the best path.”

“The Monticello Community School District has great leadership that works hard to advance our school forward in the areas of technology, facilities, and new and updated curriculum. The leadership team also does a great job communicating with parents.”

“We feel so blessed to have a group of teachers at all levels that are full of talent and genuine interest in our children’s success.”
