Applicants for certified positions should complete the application process on the Teach Iowa website: www.teachiowa.gov or by clicking on the individual positions below. Applicants for certified positions should direct all questions to the board secretary. Applicants should not contact board members, administrators, or any other current employee of the Monticello Community School District (other than the board secretary) regarding the status of their application.
Non Certified Application for Employment
NOTE: Our applications must be opened with Adobe Acrobat Reader in order for them to be filled out electronically. Otherwise you will have to print a copy and fill it in.

Employee Physical – All employees will be required to submit to a pre-employment physical examination after an offer of employment has been made and before the beginning of service.
Employment Background Checks
A criminal background check will be completed for each applicant who interviews for a position or who would like to substitute. Applicants will be given background check forms to complete at the time of their interview. Please click on the link below for the forms.
Applicants interested in substitute teaching should submit a non-certified application, background check form and a copy of their teaching license. All payroll forms may be picked up at the District Office.
For all other substitute positions, please complete the non-certified application and background check form and return to the District office.
Substitute Pay is as follows:
Sub Teachers/Nurses – $110 per day (based on 8 hours) (must possess a valid IOWA teacher license, substitute license or substitute authorization)
Sub Associates – $9.50 per hour
Sub Bus Driver – $18.70 per hour
Sub Custodian – $10.85 per hour
Sub Food Service – $9.35 per hour
Sub Clerical – $9.95 per hour
