7th/8th Grade WIN:
WIN (What I Need) is designed as an intervention time to help students who need additional support in their core classes. The interventions focus on reteaching, reassessment, pre-teaching skills for upcoming units, and to make-up missed work/assessments with support. WIN sessions are Monday thru Thursday, with teachers drafting interventions lists by Friday at 8am. Teachers will sign up 5th hour students on Fridays during WIN for the upcoming week. If students are not pulled by a teacher for an intervention, they will be able to sign up for an “open” session to have the opportunity to further explore an area of their choice.
WIN Enrichments:
All teachers will participate in enrichment on a monthly rotation for the core areas of English, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Also included are the enrichment areas of PE, music, art/stem, and a quiet study area in the library. Enrichments are open for creativity but should relate to a standard in the teacher’s content-area(s). Our goal for MTSS is to provide learning for all students and to promote voice and choice for students to explore content areas
Student Expectations for WIN:
- Bring materials
- Be on time
- Be on task
- No hall time, library time, or restroom breaks
