We’ve wrapped up our third week of school, with the first few weeks bringing some schedule interruptions due to heat-related changes, the holiday, and now Homecoming Week. After Homecoming, the district will settle into a more consistent routine of Monday–Friday school days with Wednesday early dismissals through the end of October.
Homecoming Week is next week, and it will be a celebration for students, staff, alumni, and the entire community. A full schedule of activities is planned, including Ironman Volleyball, Powder Puff Football, the Homecoming Parade and Coronation, Cross Country, pep rallies, a mobile pep rally at the elementary schools, the traditional cross country football run, the Homecoming football game against West Branch, a volleyball tournament, and the Homecoming Dance.
He encourage everyone to get involved and attend Homecoming events, emphasizing that community participation is what makes the celebration so special.
He also took a moment to talk about the Iowa vs. Iowa State football game and shared his prediction as an Iowa State graduate: Iowa State 21, Iowa 17!
