Hello all,
I know this information will not affect everyone, however, I wanted everyone to be in the information loop. It looks like the heat index values will be approaching 100 on both Monday (8/31) and Tuesday (9/1). In an effort to help our families as they plan for the week, we are making the following announcement:
Due to the forecast of an excessive heat/heat index, both Shannon and Carpenter elementary schools will be released at noon on Monday (8/31) and Tuesday (9/1) next week. The Middle School and the High School will continue as normal and dismiss at 3:15pm. We are asking elementary parents to pick up their students at noon at their school building on both Monday (8/31) and Tuesday (9/1). For students that are not picked up at noon, we will find an air-conditioned place until a parent arrives, the buses arrive at 3:15pm, or when Panther Academy opens at 3:15pm.
We have a regularly scheduled 1pm dismissal on Wednesday and we will make a decision about Thursday and Friday next week.
Please remember to send a water bottle with your student to help them stay hydrated on these very hot days.
