Dr. Jaeger’s Weekly Video & Survey – 8/28/26

August 28, 2026

Hello everyone!

Here is my video for the week or scroll down for a quick summary.

Also, help us improve our communication! What’s your favorite way to stay informed about our school district?   Let us know by completing this quick survey by Wednesday, 9/2.

Thank you and have a great weekend!

Brian Jaeger
Superintendent

Weekly Superintendent Update – Key Points

  • Weekly Video Updates: Superintendent Brian Jaeger will continue providing weekly video updates throughout the school year. Based on feedback from the Strategic Operating Plan, a one-page summary will accompany each video to make information easier to access.
  • Communication Survey: Families and staff will receive a short survey asking where they get most of their district information—website, SchoolMessenger, teachers, Facebook/social media, etc. The district will use the feedback to improve communication.
  • Early Dismissal Due to Heat: Due to forecasted heat and heat indexes near 100°, Shannon Elementary and Carpenter Elementary will dismiss at noon on Monday and Tuesday. The middle school and high school will remain on their regular schedule until 3:15 p.m.
    • Students who cannot be picked up at noon may remain in designated air-conditioned areas.
    • Students can be picked up later, ride the bus at 3:15, or attend Panther Academy according to their normal arrangements.
  • Homecoming Dance: HS Student Council Sponsor Hanna Lake is looking for ways to encourage students to stay and enjoy the Homecoming Dance. Plans include drawing for three door prizes among students who attend. Community members interested in donating toward the prizes can contact Hanna Lake or the high school office.
  • Job Shadows: The job-shadow portal is now open for students in grades 10–12. Students can participate in four-hour job shadows with businesses or professionals in careers they are interested in exploring. Families are encouraged to have students take advantage of this opportunity.
  • Great Start to the School Year: Dr. Jaeger thanked students, families, and staff for an excellent first week of school, highlighting positive classroom activities, strong interactions, and lots of smiling students.
