Hello all,
I just want to give you an update on our COVID numbers for this week. We currently have 6 positive COVID cases K-12 (staff and students). That means that we have dropped 5 cases from last week. We have about 19 cases (staff and students) that we are monitoring. That includes those in quarantine, waiting for COVID testing results, or out with COVID like symptoms. The number of staff and students we are monitoring is up 6 cases since last week.
The Iowa Department of Public Health is no longer giving us information from the state, or Jones County, so our school district numbers are all we have to look at. I will say that at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels the nurses report that cases of influenza A and a stomach bug are growing amongst the students. So please be on the lookout for those illnesses and remember to contact your health care provider if you have questions about your child’s health.
That is it for this week and as always please contact me if you have any questions. Thank you for your continued support of the Monticello Community School District.
