Mr. Schauf and Mrs. Stenger will be set up in the commons during all lunch shifts this week to help students with completing your 2022-23 registration forms. Forms are due in the office by 3:15 on Friday, February 11.

MHS Panther Tutoring is being offered in the Support Room (ICN room 316) this week as follows –

Watch the high school student announcements and school messenger for dates and times on a weekly basis. If you need extra help, need time to complete work, or need to reassess, please send come to tutoring. Contact Nick Schauf, MHS Principal, with questions.
The WPA Dance is Friday, February 11th from 8-11 pm in the high school commons. Students may invite a student from another school district. Guests are to be in high school or not over the age of 20. No middle school students. You will need to get a dance guest permission form from the office if you are planning to bring someone from outside the district. ALL MHS STUDENTS PLANNING TO ATTEND THE DANCE MUST SIGN UP IN THE OFFICE. Tickets will be sold at the door. The dance starts at 8 pm and students will not be allowed in after 9 pm.
A representative from Northeast Iowa Community College will be in the commons during lunch shifts on Wednesday, February 23rd. Stop by and visit with Abby and find out more about NICC!
Silver Service Opportunities:
We are hosting a Girls Basketball Tournament on Saturday, February 5th and Sunday, February 6th at the High School and New Middle School. Juniors can explore a career through a summer internship by signing up here until February 9th. Students receive one elective credit for completing a 90-hour internship.
Seniors planning to attend college next year should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible. See Mrs. Stenger after completing it for a free pop-it!
Scholarships are beginning to be posted. They will be posted alphabetically by name of scholarship as we post them. When active, the scholarship name will be turned green. Go to the school’s website at www.monticello.k12.ia.us and go to the High School page. Click on the Counseling tab, then click on Scholarships on the right. Conservation Districts of Iowa Conservation Scholarship – Applicants must be graduating seniors pursuing programs of study in any field of agriculture or natural resources. Application can be found on the Scholarship web page linked from the HS Counseling website. Deadline is February 18, 2022.
Dupaco R.W. Hoefer Foundation Scholarship Program – Dupaco has three different scholarship programs: For first-time, full time students, they offer their 4-Year College University Program and Community College/Trade School Program. For current college students, they offer their Current College Student Scholarship. The online application, instructions and additional details can be found at www.dupaco.com/scholarships . Deadline is February 24, 2022.
Aegon Asset Management Scholarship – This scholarship is designated for students from historically underrepresented groups including female-identifying students and/or those with diverse cultural or ethnic backgrounds. Must be a senior at an Iowa high school committed to a 4-year degree program in the financial services industry. Information and application can be found on the Scholarship web page linked from the HS Counseling website. Deadline is February 28, 2022.
Elks National Foundation Legacy Scholarships – Applicant must be college-bound graduating high school seniors who are children or grandchildren of Elk members. Eligibility requirements and online application can be found at www.enf.elks.org/leg Deadline is February 7, 2022.
Delaware County Republican Scholarship – Applicant must be a resident of Delaware County and be planning to enroll in an accredited post-secondary institution in the fall of 2022. Essay required. Completed applications and required documents must be mailed to: Robert Kugel, 405 West Marion Street, Manchester IA 52057. Application can be found on the Scholarship web page linked from the HS Counseling website. Deadline is March 18, 2022.
First Friday Breakfast Club Scholarship – Applicants must be a high school senior who has demonstrated leadership in efforts to increase education and understanding of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues and reduce homophobia in their schools and communities. Must be a resident of Iowa and plan to pursue a post-secondary education. Information and application can be found on the Scholarship web page linked from the HS Counseling website. Deadline is March 15, 2022.
Steve Rucker Memorial Scholarship – This scholarship is offered in memory of Steve Rucker. It will be awarded to the MHS 2022 senior that demonstrates similar characteristics as Steve: exceptional work ethic, leadership, and reliability. Information and application can be found on the Scholarship web page linked from the HS Counseling website. Deadline is April 15, 2022.
Keep America Beautiful Scholarships – Keep Iowa Beautiful will award three $1000 scholarships to Iowa high school seniors who plan to enroll in an Iowa college or university.
Bob Byers Scholarship: Supporting students who plan to enroll and study environmental science, community development, landscape architecture or community planning and sustainability.
William Fultz Scholarship: Supporting students planning on studying communications, public relations and/or marketing.
Gerald Schnepf Scholarship: Supporting students with a record of community service and a desire to continue to support and contribute to the enhancement of the place they live and work. Go to www.keepiowabeutiful.org/grants-scholarships/scholarships/ to apply online. Deadline is February 11, 2022.

Brian Pearson Memorial Scholarship – Recognizes two outstanding student-athletes (one male and one female) involved with the Iowa Games. Based on school and community involvement, Iowa Games participation, athletic accomplishments, and academic achievement. The application can be found on the Scholarship web page linked from the HS Counseling website. Deadline is April 4, 2022.
Better Business Bureau’s Student of Integrity Scholarship – Go to www.bbb.org/local-bbb/bbb-serving-greater-iowa-quad-cities-and-siouxland-region for information and to apply online. No deadline given – check out the website for more details.
Jones County Dairy Promotion Scholarship – Applicant must be a graduating senior pursuing a post-secondary agriculture-related education in an accredited institution. Deadline is April 1, 2022
Fidelity Bank & Trust Scholarship -Applicant must be a current high school senor that maintains a C average or better and plans to pursue post-secondary education at any accredited institution which provides a two or four year college program or vocational training.
