Hello all,
The forecast is calling for a -33 below zero wind chill temperature for Wednesday morning. Unless the forecast changes, it looks like we will be having a late start again on Wednesday. I wanted to make you aware of a unique set of circumstances that we face tomorrow. We have an incredible program lined up with a nationally known guest speaker, Joe Beckman, who will be doing programs for the middle school and the high school students during the school day. Then he will do a program for the staff in the afternoon, as we are scheduled for an early dismissal at 2pm. Because this is a limited opportunity event, and this event has a substantial cost, I do not want to lose this opportunity for the staff tomorrow. So in the event of a late start on Wednesday we will still continue with our early dismissal schedule for Wednesday. That allows our students and staff to participate in the program. So that means, if this scenario plays out, school could be from 10am – 2pm on Wednesday. The other scenario is that the cold weather may cause our buses to gel up and if we have that problem we would need to cancel the school day. We will make a decision on the Wednesday late start after the school day ends today.
I sincerely thank you for your flexibility and understanding of our situation. We will do our best to make it all work, but sometimes Mother Nature wins the tug of war.
Have a great Tuesday!!!
Dr. Brian Jaeger, Superintendent
