Freshmen – TODAY during lunch you will be receiving your new Chromebook. Please remember to bring your chromebook (put a note on it if anything is wrong with it), charger, and Usage Agreement form if you haven’t turned it in yet. If you don’t have your computer or Agreement form you will not receive your new Chromebook today. If you are missing your charger, you will be billed for it.
Spring Play Auditions are next week. Auditions will be held in Mrs. Osterkamp’s room (308) next week on Monday, January 17 at 3:30pm and 7:00pm and on Tuesday, January 18 at 7:00pm.

Juniors can explore a career through a summer internship by signing up here December 13th-February 9th. Students receive one elective credit for completing a 90-hour internship.
Seniors planning to attend college next year should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible. See Mrs. Stenger after completing it for a free pop-it!
Scholarships are beginning to be posted. They will be posted alphabetically by name of scholarship as we post them. When active, the scholarship name will be turned green. Go to the school’s website at www.monticello.k12.ia.us and go to the High School page. Click on the Counseling tab, then click on Scholarships on the right. Also check out the Counseling Announcement link for other counseling office information and other college and scholarship announcements.
Horatio Alger Scholarship – The Horatio Alger Association seeks to assist students who have demonstrated integrity, perseverance in overcoming adversity, strength of character, financial need, a good academic record, commitment to pursue a college education, and a desire to contribute to society. Iowa Association of Municipal Utilities Scholarships:
Utility-Focused Scholarship – candidate must be a 2022 graduating high school senior or have previously graduated from high school and will be attending a post high school education program in Iowa in the fall of 2022. Must live in a residence that is a verified customer of an IAMU member.
General Scholarship – candidate must attend a college/technical school in Iowa, have a parent/grandparent/guardian who is an employee of an IAMU verified member, and have a 3.0 minimum GPA. Go to https://members.iamu.org/page/scholarship_program to apply. Deadline is February 15, 2022.
White Hawk Tech-Vocational Scholarship – This scholarship is open to any student attending a technical, trade and/or vocational school in any career. Information and application can be found on the High School’s Counseling webpage-click on Scholarships. Deadline is May 6, 2022.
