Hello everyone,
There is a wind chill advisory in effect from 6pm tonight until 9am Friday morning. Wind chills are expected to be as low as 30 below zero. Please talk with your kids about this tonight no matter what age they are. For the younger ones, make sure they bundle up and stay inside until the school bus arrives. Expect that there may be delays to our buses on extremely cold days. Just remember that if every kid is waiting inside, it may take longer to load the bus when the driver arrives at each stop. So please be patient with us. For the older students, make sure they bundle up too. Surprisingly, some of the older kids still try and wear shorts, even on the coldest of days. If they drive to school, please make sure their vehicle is ready in case something unexpected happens, such as their car not starting or if they get their car stuck somewhere. In these cases they need things like a coat, gloves, hat, blankets, etc. It never hurts to be too prepared.
With the wind chill advisory in effect until 9am there is a chance we will have a 2 hour delay in the morning again. We will make a final decision on that later this evening or in the morning with the most updated weather information.
Thank you for your help with this and please stay warm and safe!!!
Brian Jaeger, Superintendent
