I just want to give you an update on our COVID numbers for this week. We currently have 11 positive COVID cases K-12 (staff and students). That means we are up 8 cases from last week. We have about 17 cases (staff and students) that we are monitoring. That includes those in quarantine, waiting for COVID testing results, or out with COVID like symptoms. The number of staff and students we are monitoring is down 3 cases this week.
The Iowa Department of Public Health reports that Jones County has a 7-day positivity rate of 11%. That is up 2% from last week. The number of positive COVID cases in Jones County over the last 7 days is 64, and that is up 22 cases from last week.
Looking at the chart of COVID cases on the IDPH website, it looks like cases have started to trend up at this time. If we combine COVID cases with cases we are monitoring, we are around 3% of our staff and student population currently out for COVID related reasons.
That is it for this week, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
