Hello all,
I just want to give you an update on our COVID numbers for this week. We currently have 3 positive COVID cases K-12 (staff and students). That means we are down 6 cases from last week. We have about 20 cases (staff and students) that we are monitoring. That includes those in quarantine, waiting for COVID testing results, or out with COVID like symptoms. The number of staff and students we are monitoring are up 2 cases this week.
The Iowa Department of Public Health reports that Jones County has a 7-day positivity rate of 9%. That is down 1% from last week. The number of positive COVID cases in Jones County over the last 7 days is 42, and that is down 2 cases from last week.
Looking at the chart of COVID cases on the IDPH website, it looks like cases are continuing to trend down at this time. If we combine COVID cases with cases we are monitoring, we are around 2% of our staff and student population currently out for COVID related reasons.
There will be a vaccine clinic Saturday at the Lawrence Community Center. Please see our previous email with more specific information on this event.
That is it for this week, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
