Hello all,
I just want to give you an update on our COVID numbers for this week. We currently have 9 positive COVID cases K-12 (staff and students). That means we are down 17 cases from last week. We have about 14 cases (staff and students) that we are monitoring. That includes those in quarantine, waiting for COVID testing results, or out with COVID like symptoms. The number of staff and students we are monitoring has dropped 3 cases this week.
The Iowa Department of Public Health reports that Jones County has a 7-day positivity rate of 14%. That is down 2% from last week. The number of positive COVID cases in Jones County over the last 7 days is 77, and that is down 7 cases from last week.
Looking at the chart of COVID cases on the IDPH website, it looks like cases are trending down at this time. If we combine COVID cases with cases we are monitoring, we have dropped from 3% to 2% of our staff and student population currently out for COVID related reasons. We will continue to monitor this on a case by case basis and look for additional ways to keep our staff and students safe each day. Here is the most current information from the Iowa Department of Public Health on positive cases in Iowa.

That is it for this week, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
