Hello all,
I just want to update you about our COVID numbers. We currently have 15 positive COVID cases K-12 (staff and students). That means we are down 1 case from last week. We have about 34 cases (staff and students) that we are monitoring. That includes those in quarantine, waiting for COVID testing results, or out with COVID like symptoms. The number of staff and students we are monitoring has dropped 14 cases this week.
The Iowa Department of Public Health reports that Jones County has a 7-day positivity rate of 15%. That is up 4% from last week. The number of positive COVID cases in Jones County over the last 7 days is 80, and that is up 2 cases from last week.
One other piece of data that I will share this week is the number of positive COVID cases (staff and students) in the Monticello Community School District from August 23 through September 24, 2020 (10 cases) and August 23 through September 24, 2021 (36 cases). As you can see, our numbers are higher this school year during the same time period.
That is it for this week, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
