2021 yearbooks may be picked up in the art room after school today and tomorrow. Distribution will begin after school today. Please do not come in to get one before then. Thanks!
Seniors – Please turn in a senior and baby picture for yearbook by email to Mrs. Woodhouse before winter break. Hard copies are accepted also, with your name on the back. Contact Mrs. Woodhouse if you have any questions. Guidelines are —
GUIDELINES FOR SENIOR PHOTOS FOR YEARBOOK:
– Head and shoulders only.
– Vertical format.
– Clothing should conform to school dress code.
-No inappropriate poses.
-No other people, animals, objects/props in photograph.
-No sunglasses.
– Color or B/W are acceptable.
– Submit digitally or write name on back if submitting a hard copy.
-Must be received by deadline (before winter break of senior year)
Photos can be emailed to jane.woodhouse@monticello.k12.ia.us or can be turned in to office window.
Baby photos are optional but must also be submitted by deadline if you wish one. Copies are preferred to original heirloom photos. Baby pictures not submitted digitally should be labeled on the back with first and last names.
For senior pictures, of course, you are free to have any senior photo poses you and your photographer wish for your own use. However, the senior portrait selected and submitted for use in the school yearbook must meet the above guidelines. Thanks!
Senior Census Winners are posted by the office. Senior census winners should come to the art room at 7:45 am for a photo on Monday Sept. 20. (We will wait until after Homecoming dress up week for this.)
Please remember Camp Courageous is on private property and if you want to get pictures taken there for Homecoming, you will need to call Camp Courageous ahead of time and get their permission. Thank you!
Musical auditions are scheduled in the choir room as follows –
Monday, September 13 at 3:30.
Tuesday, September 14 at 3:30 and 7:00
Homecoming tickets will be sold during lunch through Friday. Student Council will have a table set up. Tickets are $5 per person.
If you are interested in playing in the games for the Homecoming Pep Rally, please sign up during lunch at the ticket table by September 10th.
The Dance Teams’ Monti Panther Fan Merchandise order forms may be picked up at the office window. Orders are due in the office by Friday, September 24.
Juniors and seniors interested in a job shadow should apply here by Wednesday, September 22nd. Experience a job in person (virtual options also available) for 2-4 hours through Workplace Learning Connection’s Job Shadow program!

Powder Puff and Ironman Volleyball permission slips need turned in to the office by Friday, September 10.
Mouth guards are required for girls participating in the Powder Puff game and are available in the office.
The Homecoming Parade and Coronation will be held on Monday, Sept 13th. Parade line up will start at 5:30 in the pool parking lot and the Parade will begin at 6:00. Coronation will be at the football field 6:45. If weather conditions are not favorable the coronation will be held in the High School Gymnasium at 6:45. The Junior/Senior Girls Powder Puff game will begin at 7:00. The Junior/Senior Boys Ironman Volleyball game will begin at 8:00 in the high school gym.
If you are bringing a guest from another school district, you need to register your guest in the office AND fill out a guest registration form, which is available at the office drive-up window. If you are bringing a guest that has graduated, you must register your guest in the office but do not need a registration form.
The Homecoming Dance will be on Saturday, September 18th in the High School commons from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

Seniors planning to attend college next year: The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) opens October 1st. To be ready for this important financial aid step, please complete a FSA ID electronic signature account in the month of September. Below are short workshops to help.
FSA ID Virtual Workshops for Students & Parents
Iowa College Aid is hosting a series of Zoom workshops to help students and parents create their FSA ID before the FAFSA opens! Encourage your students to attend one of our live events to complete their FSA ID. Attendees will need a computer or mobile device to access the website and create their FSA ID. Workshops begin Wednesday, September 8th and will go through Thursday, September 16. The Zoom links and session times are listed in the Student Resources section. Please promote these events as you see fit via social media, announcements, emails, fliers, etc.
