April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. Since 1975, an organization called Prevent Child Abuse Iowa has been leading child abuse prevention efforts in Iowa, inspiring change and making our state safer for those who need it. We would like to recognize the efforts of this organization by participating in a couple events at MMS.
On Tuesday, April 6, our tagline will be “Put a cap on child abuse”. You are invited to wear an appropriate hat to school for the day.
On Thursday, April 8, we will participate in the “Jones County Blue Out Day”. Please wear blue to show your support.
Attention 8th grade students. If you took Careers 1st semester, there is opportunity available for you to work with a Kirkwood Career Counselor to further explore careers using Career Quest, a computer program that we are utilizing 2nd semester. We will be setting up a couple of WIN Enrichment sessions beginning in April. If you are interested, please pick up a permission form from Mrs. Shady. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Larson.
6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students who are interested in traveling to Washington, D.C., Williamsburg, V.A., and New York, N.Y. in June of 2022, should bring their parents to an informational meeting in the Middle School lunchroom or have them log onto the Google Meet link shared in the invite envelope Monday, April 5 at 5:30. See Mrs. Schmitt if you have questions.
Reminder: No School Tomorrow (Friday, April 2nd).
