Attention boys planning on going out for golf this year. If you would like to be part of the boys’ golf team, please send an email to Coach Tauke indicating you want to join this year’s team by Friday, March 5. He will then invite you to an organizational meeting to be held virtually through Google Meet sometime next week during non-school hours. Be watching for an invitation to this video conference.

Students who completed paperwork to take Kirkwood classes next year and have not enrolled in Dual Enroll, Kirkwood will be contacting you to schedule an individual appointment.

No exceptions will be made for late submissions. Sophomores and Juniors with a 3.5 GPA and 40 hours of documented community service are eligible to apply. M Town Tire and Auto in Monticello is currently looking for a part-time employee that would like to learn automotive and tire repair. The position would be a mix of helping and learning automotive, tire repair, shop maintenance, customer service, and shop cleaning duties. We are a small shop and treat our employees like family. The Iowa Girls’ High School Athletic Union is looking for female student-athletes interested in serving on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. The 11-member committee is comprised of two female athletes from each of the state’s four districts (NE, SE, NW, SW), along with 3 “at-large” representatives. Committee members serve a two-year term. Five seats will become available at the conclusion of the 2021 school year. Applications may be submitted electronically or mailed to the IGHSAU by April 12, 2021. The Children’s Cancer Connection has several volunteer opportunities which include: being a camp counselor at Camp Heart and at day camps, a special events volunteer and making fleece tie blankets. See information on the Counseling bulletin board in the hallway outside the counseling office.
Animal Welfare Friends has numerous silver service/community service opportunities available.
Walk and or brush dogs. There is always a need for walking and brushing dogs during shelter hours Tuesday through Saturday noon to 6:30! Help with AWF Sponsor a Pet Program. Some people love animals but are not able to personally have one. AWF will soon be offering the opportunity for individuals to sponsor a shelter dog or cat. Past scholarship applications are listed to help you research the ones you want to apply for – look at the old applications to get an idea of how to answer questions and essays then watch for the updated application. Lucille Warner Memorial Scholarship – Offered to a graduating senior who is interested in continuing their education in either elementary education or in a healthcare field.
