02/05/21 Elementary Friday Bulletin
from Mr. Folken, Elementary Principal
NEXT WEEK
Wednesday: Online Learning Day
3rd/4th GRADE: MEASURES OF ACADEMIC PROGRESS (MAP)
Next week, the 3rd and 4th grade students will complete their MAP assessments. Please make sure your child’s Chromebook is fully charged each day and try to assure that your child gets a good night’s sleep before testing.
WEDNESDAY MORNING / IN-PERSON LEARNING
As you have heard by now, due to newly passed state legislation, the Monticello CSD is moving to in-person learning for K-12 students on Wednesday mornings beginning on February 17th. We are in the process of fine-tuning the Wednesday morning schedule including lunch plans. I fully anticipate that we will offer a box lunch to be eaten at school. Information will be shared next week once finalized.
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ISSUED DEVICES
Due to students coming back to in-person learning five days a week, beginning Monday, Feb 15th, elementary school issued devices and chargers will only be sent home if we are expecting bad weather and the possibility of a virtual learning day or when teachers need to switch students to temporary online learning. All chargers will need to be returned to school, along with iPads and Chromebooks, so that devices can be charged in the classroom each evening. If you have lost your school charger please email Miss Hansen to discuss purchasing a replacement. Her email is heather.hansen@monticello.k12.ia.us
