Student Bulletin Wednesday, January 13 Day 1
There will be no snow days this year. These will be Online Learning Days! If we have a weather closure on a school day, students are required to check each of their Google Classrooms by 8:30 am to see their teachers’ postings as to instructions about meeting and/or office hours for the day.
Wednesday, January 20th will be a Day 1 in our Wednesday rotation. This is the first Wednesday in the 2nd Semester.
Schedule changes will take place tomorrow and Friday.
BPA is selling carnations for Valentine’s day as a fundraiser to raise money for state costs. They will be $2.00 each, and will be selling the flowers between January 14th- 20th. You can order online and fill out the form below or order before school and during lunch. Please drop your money off in Mrs. Gassman’s room in the morning, by January 20th. Order your flowers today to deliver happiness to someone else!
We are running low on our supply of masks. Please be sure to bring your own mask every day.
Kirkwood scheduling for the 21-22 school year begins January 26th. If you would like to virtually meet with Julie Welter, Kirkwood Career Counselor & Academic Advisor, to discuss the best fit, sign up here.
The HS SODA group (students opposed to drugs and alcohol) is teaming with the American Heart Association to have an all school RED OUT tomorrow.
The basketball game versus Maquoketa Valley on Jan 14th will also be a RED OUT with fans at home and at the game encouraged to buy an AHA shirt and wear it to watch the game. All proceeds will go to the American Heart Association and the MHS SODA.
American Heart Association Heart Sale. Each heart is $1. You can put your name on it or dedicate it to someone.
If MHS sells more than 100 hearts we will have a pie in the face of a student. If we sell more than 200 we will have a pie in the face of both a student and a teacher. At 300 we’ll have student, teacher and Mrs. Young. And if we can pull off selling 400 Dr. Jaeger the superintendent has agreed to take a pie in the face. We have about 400 people in the building with students and staff so hopefully that is attainable. For each heart you purchase your name goes in the drawing to put the pie in someone’s face. So if you buy 5 then you get your name in the drawing 5 times. Then we will have a lottery drawing to see who gets to put a pie in the face of someone.
SODA students will be selling the hearts in the commons before school and during lunch this week and next. Look for them if you’d like to support a great cause.
