This year MHS will be celebrating Veteran’s Day virtually. If you would like to participate you can either submit a photo or video of you with a vet you’d like to honor. Or we have students who will come take a photo or video of you. Contact Mr. Hospo if you’d like to participate.

Scholarship season is starting and information and applications will begin to be posted. Past scholarship applications are listed to help you research the ones you want to apply for – look at the old applications to get an idea of how to answer questions and essays then watch for the updated application. Watch for deadlines and how to submit the applications. Also check out the Counseling Announcements for information on colleges, college visits and contacts plus other counseling information.

Hagan Scholarship – Applicant must be an Iowa senior with a 3.25 GPA or higher and must work 240 hours in the 12 months prior to the start of college and before each academic year of college. See information for more requirements. Deadline is November 15, 2020
AXA Equitable Excellence Scholarship – Applicants must be high school seniors planning to enroll in an accredited two- or four-year college or university. Must demonstrate ambition and self-drive as evidenced by outstanding achievement in school, community or work-related activities. Deadline is December 15, 2020
Burger King Scholars Program – Applicant must be a high school senior applying to a four-year accredited US college or university. Must have at least a 3.3 GPA and minimum ACT composite of 25 or minimum combined SAT score of 1220. Must demonstrate an active leadership role in community service, athletics, and/or similar co-curricular activity, as well as substantial work experience. Online application only. Distinguished Young Women Scholarship Program – Distinguished Young Women is a unique program that combines the chance to win college scholarships with a program that offers life skills training to prepare young women for the world after high school. The program takes place in all 50 states – participants must participate in either their junior or senior year. Participants are evaluated on Scholastics, Interview, Talent, Fitness and Self Expression. Local winners advance to state level, then on to the national level.
