Wednesday, October 14th from 7:30 – 10:30 a.m. is Picture Retake & Online Students Picture Day in the new HS front entrance. Any student that missed the first picture day should get your picture taken. If you are a hybrid or online student, this is your day to get your picture taken. Every student & staff person must get their picture taken!! Please make sure to wear a mask when entering and leaving the building.
Seniors: Turn in senior and baby pictures by email to Mrs. Woodhouse or to the office window. Label on the back if turning in a hard copy. The last day to turn one in is Dec. 18.
Seniors wanting to graduate at the end of first semester must pick up an early graduation application form in the office. Deadline to submit your application to Mrs. Young is TODAY at 3:15.
Academic Awards Certificates and NHS certificates can be picked up in the office.
Those students picking up NHS certificates need to stop in the office to sign the NHS book.
2020 Yearbooks are available for pickup in the art room after school.
MHS Dance Team members are selling panther fan gear. Order forms are available at the drive up window or see attached. Orders are due October 16th.
Monticello Nursing and Rehab is hiring for the following positions:
Part-time CNA, hours are 2pm-10pm but we also have a 4pm-10pm shift available. We are willing to train the right candidate and help them obtain their CNA certification for free. The pay for this position is $15/hour.
Part-time Dietary Aide, hours are 5pm-8pm. Starting pay for this position is $10.20/hour.

If you are considering college next year, please fill out the FAFSA ASAP. Watch this video for more info. Complete the Senior Survey by October 30th. If you haven’t yet, schedule a senior meeting with Mrs. Stenger by the end of this month.
Juniors, if you would like to compete for the National Merit Scholarships by taking the PSAT test the morning of October 14, please bring $17 to Mrs. Stenger.
College representatives will be arranging virtual college visits with our school this year. See a list of the scheduled colleges and a link to the Zoom meeting by visiting here. More will be added as they schedule with us.
Prudential Spirit of Community Award – Applicant must be a middle or high school student, have been engaged in a volunteering activity that has occurred at least in part, after September 1, 2019. Iowa State University Multicultural Vision Program Scholarship – The “MVP” Scholarship is a four-year, full tuition award for 100 multicultural Iowa high school students. Learn more about this scholarship by going to <multicultural.dso.iastate.edu/programs/mvp/apply>. Deadline: December 1, 2020

Scholarship season is starting and information and applications will begin to be posted. Past scholarship applications are listed to help you research the ones you want to apply for – look at the old applications to get an idea of how to answer questions and essays then watch for the updated application. Watch for deadlines and how to submit the applications. Also check out the Counseling Announcements for information on colleges, college visits and contacts plus other counseling information.
Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship – Applicant must be a high school senior planning to pursue a four-year degree in a US college or university. They need not be related to a member of the Elks. Male and female students compete separately. See information posted on the MHS Scholarship webpage linked on the MHS Counseling website.
