Please welcome our new Middle School Principal, Todd Werner! Todd started in his new role yesterday. See his note below.
I am very excited to be joining the Monticello Team and look forward to getting started. I was the 7-12 Principal at Belle Plaine for 7 years and prior to that I was the 7-12 Principal at WACO for four years. Before going into Administration I was a Physical Education teacher in the Linn-Mar School District at Wilkins Elementary for nine years and also spent time as a physical education and social studies teacher at Northeast Hamilton for four years and as a teacher at Wellsburg-Steamboat Rock to start my career. Throughout my career I’ve also served as a Head Boys Basketball coach and Head Girls Basketball Coach at the high school level and also served as an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Coe College. I’ve also coached track, golf, and football. Outside school, I spend as much time as possible doing outdoor activities like golf, hunting, and fishing. Although I may lack true skill and knowledge, I also enjoy do it yourself projects around the home. In the little remaining time I have, I also have worked as a radio broadcaster for high school basketball and football. I even had the privilege of traveling with the Iowa Hawkeye Women’s Basketball team as the radio color analyst a few years ago. My wife Paula and I have three kids; Colin (16), Brent (14), and a daughter Kendall (11) who are each very active and we love supporting them in all their activities.
I look forward to meeting everyone very soon!
Todd
