If you haven’t taken a Kirkwood course yet and plan to next year, now is the time to apply. Some courses will require placement testing before February so plan ahead. Deadlines will be enforced. Go to www.kirkwood.edu/earncredit -> Apply to earn CCHS. After this is complete, be sure to activate your
k number and password in the welcome letter. Call Craig or Lisa if you have any questions at 319-465-2302.
All lockers in the locker rooms need to be cleaned out by Friday, December 20th. This includes lockers of those out for sports. The locker rooms will be cleaned over Christmas break.
Reminder to watch for your name on the white board outside of the office. There could be an important message from your parents or teachers, someone may have dropped something off for you, you could have mail, etc. Once you have checked at the office window be sure to erase your name from the board.
Students wanting to take Kirkwood’s Composition, Statistics, or an online class next year must complete required testing before January 21st. Students can sign up with Mrs. Stenger to test January 15th at 8:30 in the high school building.
Community Service Opportunities:
Camp Courageous is looking for volunteers for their respite day camps January 4th and 11th and February 1st and 8th. Contact Jenn Geyer at 319-465-5916 extension 2320 or jgeyer@campcourageous.org if you are interested in volunteering.

Darryl Jahn Scholarship – Iowa State University – Scholarship is available for any man attending Iowa State University in the fall of 2020. Go to http://www.epsilon.betasigmapsi.org/scholarship/ for information and to apply online. Deadline: January 11, 2020 (for all awards), March 30, 2020 (for two awards) and July 1, 2020

The Iowa United Methodist Foundation has over 100 scholarships to give out! There are scholarships specifically for graduating high school seniors: general scholarships for students going to non-Methodist colleges, scholarships for students going to United Methodist college and seminary scholarships designated for individuals following the call to join the ministry. Go to https://iumf.org/scholarships to apply. Deadline is March 1, 2020.
Alliant Energy Innovation Scholarship – Applicants must have participated in a leadership role in community service work or volunteer activities. Must be a dependent child or be a current customer of Alliant Energy, have a GPA of at least a 2.5, and plan to enroll, for the first time, at an accredited two-or four-year college, university or vo-tech school located within the Alliant Energy service territory. Information can be found on the 2020 Scholarship Application webpage posted on the MHS Counseling website. Deadline: February 17, 2020
