SENIORS: Senior and baby photos are due DEC. 18 for yearbook. You can turn in to Mrs. Ralston or Mrs. Woodhouse. This is the Google doc listing who has turned in senior and baby pictures for yearbook.
If you haven’t taken a Kirkwood course yet and plan to next year, now is the time to apply. Some courses will require placement testing before February so plan ahead. Deadlines will be enforced. Wells Fargo Scholarship Program for People with Disabilities – Applicant must be a graduating high school senior at Monticello High School planning on attending an accredited two- or four-year college or university. Must have an identified disability and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. See the information posted on the 2020 Scholarship Application webpage on the MHS Counseling website. Deadline is December 6, 2019
American Soybean Assoc. Soy Scholarship – Applicant must be the child or grandchild of a current ASA member who plans to declare agriculture as a major. Must have a GPA of at least a 3.0. John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest – Applicant must write an essay that describes an act of political courage by a US elected official who served during or after 1917, the year JFK was born. ASHRAE Iowa Chapter Scholarship Program – For a complete list of scholarships, eligibility criteria, and application materials, please visit www.ashrae.org/scholarships . Deadlines are December 1st and May 1st.
AXA Achievement Scholarship – Applicants are high school seniors who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in their activities in school, the community or the workplace. Award recipients are ethnically and economically diverse but share the qualities of ambition; drive; determination to reach goals; have respect for self, family and community; and the ability to succeed in college. Mensa Foundation Scholarship Program – The only eligibility requirement is that the applicant be enrolled, for the academic year following the award, in a degree program in an accredited post-secondary institution. For the general awards, the applicant need not be a member of Mensa and are unrestricted as to age, race, gender, level of post-secondary education and financial need. Awards are based on an essay. National Center for Learning Disabilities Scholarships – The Anne Ford and Allegra Ford Thomas Scholarships offer financial assistance to two graduating high school seniors with documented learning disabilities and/or ADHD who are pursing post-secondary education. Keep Iowa Beautiful Scholarships – Bob Byers Scholarship – Applicant must be an Iowa high school senior enrolling in an Iowa college or university to student environmental science, community development, landscape architecture or architecture with historical emphasis, or community planning and sustainability. William Fultz Scholarship – Applicant must be an Iowa high school senior planning on studying communications, public relations and/or marketing. Gerald Schnepf Scholarship – Applicant must be an Iowa high school senior who has a record of community service and a desire to continue to support and contribute to the enhancement of the place they live and work. Strayer-Rairden Scholarship in Physics – University of Iowa – Applicant must be an Iowa graduating senior who has applied for admission at the University of Iowa and will declare physics or astronomy as their major.
