Do you love sports? Are you interested in a career in sports/recreation? On November 5th during WIN, we will have a guest speaker from the University of Iowa’s Sport and Recreation Management Program. See Mrs. Sconsa to sign up.

The Dubuque Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring Business After School for staff, students, and parents. Most sessions are held from 4-6 p.m. at various businesses. This link will give you the information about the program.

All students are encouraged to keep track of the Guidance Office and Scholarship webpages for updates on important information on ACTs, college or military rep visits, college information and scholarship information and applications. See Mrs. Stenger or Mrs. Dirks if you have any questions!
November 4 – The Marines will be in the commons during lunch shifts and for WIN.
November 11 – A rep from Hawkeye Community College will be in the commons during lunch shifts. Stop by and say hi and ask any questions you may have.

Prudential Spirit of Community Award – Applicant must be a middle or high school student who is making meaningful contributions to their communities through volunteer service. See information sheet posted on the 2020 Scholarship Application page on the High School Counseling website for more information and other important deadlines. Deadline: November 5, 2019.
Hagan Scholarship – Applicant must be an Iowa graduating senior with a 3.75 GPA or higher and have at least a 24 composite score on the ACT. Must work 240 hours in the 12 months prior to the start of college. Must complete the FAFSA in 2019. See details on other requirements and how to get the application in the brochure posted on the 2020 Scholarship Application webage. Deadline: November 15, 2019
Christina Hixson Opportunity Award – Applicant must demonstrate financial need and has faced challenges of personal or financial hardship. Must be planning to enroll at Iowa State University in the fall of 2020. Online application and information can be found at https://www.hixson.dso.iastate.edu/application. Deadline: December 15, 2019
