Student Bulletin Thursday, September 19 Day 1
Hunter Specht, a professional gamer, will be speaking about his profession during WIN on Friday, September 27th. Please see Ms. Derby or Mrs. Sconsa to sign up by Wednesday, September 25th.
There are enough parking spaces during the school day for each student to have a parking space. Please do not park on the end caps. If you do, you will get a ticket.
Students interested in an automotive competition Tuesday, November 5th in Ankeny for prizes should talk to Mrs. Stenger for more information.
Classes will not be held tomorrow due to a Teacher Collaboration Day.
Ohnward Bank is looking to hire a junior or senior teller that would process deposits, cash checks, wrap coins, and other duties. The teller would be able to work weekday afternoons and some Saturdays. Contact Suzan Ehlers at 319-465-6173 extension 3213 if you are interested.
Homecoming week is Sept 23rd – 28th. Dress-Up Days are as follows:
Monday is Color Wars Day – Staff-Black, Seniors-Maroon/Red, Juniors-Blue, Sophomores-White, Freshmen-Yellow
Tuesday is Jersey Day
Wednesday is Character Day
Thursday is Pajama Day
Friday is Panther Pride Day
The Homecoming Parade and Coronation will be held on Monday, Sept 23rd. Parade line up will start at 5:30 in the pool parking lot and the Parade will begin at 6:00 following the same route as last year. Coronation will be at the football field 6:30. If weather conditions are not favorable the coronation will be held in the High School Gymnasium at 6:30. The Junior/Senior Girls Powder Puff game will begin at 7:00.
Any junior or senior girl wishing to participate in the Powder Puff game on Monday, Sept 23rd needs to turn in a completed permission form to Mr. Lambert by Thursday, Sept 19th. Forms are available at the office drive-up window. Mouth guards are also required for anyone wishing to play, if you need one see Mr. Lambert.
On Friday, September 27th there will be a Homecoming Pep Rally at 2:45 in the High School gymnasium.
The Homecoming Court and their parents will be presented between the JV and Varsity football games on Friday, Sept 27th.
The Homecoming Dance will be on Saturday, September 28th in the High School commons from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm. If you have invited a guest to the homecoming dance who is not currently a Monticello High School student, you must register your guest in the office by Fri, Sept 27th. There is a registration guest list to write your guest’s name on in the office. Dance Guest Registration forms are available at the office drive-up window.
Homecoming tickets will be sold September 23rd through September 27th. Ticket cost is $5/person.
Please sign the poster designated for your class. This will also be available at lunch all of next week.

Horatio Alger Association Scholarships – National & State: Applicant must be a graduating senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree at an accredited public or private institution. Must demonstrate financial need, be involved in school and community activities. Also based on academics and be a person who displays integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity.
