New Curriculum & Special Programs Director

Please help us in congratulating our new Curriculum & Special Programs Director Robyn Ponder!

Dear MCSD Staff & Community,

I am very honored to be the next Curriculum and Special Programs Director for the Monticello Community School District. For those of you who don’t know me, I have been a teacher in this district for the last 12 years. I started as the Elementary Literacy Specialist, taught second grade, third grade, sixth grade, and most recently was the At-Risk Coordinator for the Central Middle School. Along with these teaching positions, I held various leadership positions in the district and in the community. My husband, Travis, and I have two children, Dylan who will be a freshman this year, and Ethan who will be in eighth grade.

Through teaching in this district and having children in this district, I know there are a lot of amazing things happening every day in Monticello Schools, and I look forward to being a part of leading the implementation of our curriculum and special programs.

I understand this position will be challenging at times, especially trying to fill the huge shoes my predecessor, Gretchen Kriegel, left behind. Gretchen served as the Curriculum and Special Programs Director for Monticello Schools during the last eleven years and did an outstanding job. I will work hard every day to be the best I can be in this position, continuing the excellence in education already established in this district.

Please feel free to contact me at any time. You can email me at this email address,

Thank you for this opportunity to work with all of you as the new Curriculum and Special Programs Director.

2019-2020 is going to be an amazing school year!!

With gratitude,

Robyn Ponder
