Picture retakes are scheduled for Friday, October 27th beginning at 7:30 am.

 

Reminder, hats and hoods are not to be worn in the building. If students continue to wear them, they are going to have them taken, and be given a detention.  Also, back packs are to be left in your locker and not taken to class. If students bring them to class or leave them in the hallway outside of classrooms, they will be taken and students given a detention.

Any junior or senior girl wishing to participate in the Powder Puff game on Tuesday, Sept 26th needs to turn in a completed permission form to Mr. Lambert by Friday, Sept 22. Forms are available at the drive up window in the office. Mouth guards are also required for anyone wishing to play, if you need one see Mr. Lambert.

 

Homecoming week is Sept 25 – 30th.  Dress-Up Days are as follows:  Monday is Beach Day, Tuesday is Color Wars – Staff-Red, Seniors-Blue, Juniors-Yellow, Sophomores-Purple, Freshmen-Orange, Wednesday is Wear Your Favorite Team Clothing Day, Thursday is Character/Twin Day, and Friday is Panther Pride Day.

 

The Homecoming Parade and Coronation will be held on Tuesday, Sept 26th.  Parade line up will start at 5:30 in the pool parking lot and the Parade will begin at 6:00 following the same route as last year. Coronation will be at the football field 6:30.  If weather conditions are not favorable the coronation will be held in the High School Gymnasium at 6:30.  The Junior/Senior Girls Powder Puff game will begin at 7:00.

 

On Friday, September 29th there will be a Homecoming Pep Rally at 2:45 in the High School gymnasium.  Between the JV and Varsity football games, the Homecoming Court and their parents will be presented.  The Homecoming Dance will be on Saturday, September 30th in the High School commons from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

 

If you have invited a guest to the homecoming dance who is not currently a Monticello High School student, you must register your guest in the office by Fri, Sept 29.   If your guest is attending a high school other than Monticello, a Dance Guest Registration form must be completed and turned in when you register.  The form may be picked up at the office drive-up window.  All guests must be high school age or older and no 8th graders may attend the dance.  You must arrive at the dance by 10:00 pm.  Any students suspected to be under the influence will be required to take a breath analyzer test.

 

 

School Counselor’s Office:

Kirkwood is hosting a High Tech Guys Day on October 13th where 9-12th grade males can participate in demonstrations in the areas of computer science, software development, network and information security, computer hardware repair, and website development.  Talk to Mrs. Stenger for more information.

Juniors and seniors interested in being a page for the State of Iowa House or Senate, please see Mrs. Stenger.

 

Sophomore and Juniors: Fidelity Bank & Trust is looking for a student employee who is able to work after school 3:30-5:00 during the week and some Saturday mornings.  See Mrs. Stenger if you are interested.

 

The PSAT test is offered to juniors at the high school on Wednesday, October 11th.  Juniors interested in qualifying for the National Merit Scholarship competition and/or practice with a college entrance exam, bring $16 to Mrs. Stenger by September 21st to sign up.

 

Students, please check your email.  If you do not have an email from Mrs. Stenger, please let her know by Friday.  Important information will be sent through this group email list so you’ll want to be a part of it.
