SODA is hosting its 4th annual “Dress Comfortable for Mental Health Awareness Day” Friday, March 9th.  It is a day we encourage you to dress comfortable (appropriate PJs, sweatpants and shirts etc).  Relax your way into Spring Break.


Attention Juniors and Seniors who are interested in applying for National Honor Society:  Applications are available at the high school office drive-thru window and via the district website.  You must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0, and have performed 40 hours of documented community service to apply. Completed applications will be due Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 3:15 pm to the high school office. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Stenger.

FFA will meet during WIN on Friday, March 9th.


The Kirchmann family from Springville lost their home and all their belongs in a fire this weekend.  Their daughter Kelly attends Kirkwood with a group of Monticello students.  These students are asking for item donations, monetary donations, and offering shirts for sale.  See Sami Fritz, Yutana Hughes, Hayo Eiben, Megan Mahoney or Spencer Avery for more information.


ATTENTION JUNIORS AND SENIORS!!! Got any prom song requests? Find a junior class officer or fill out the song idea sheet in the office to share your ideas.




Counseler’s Office –


For students taking the April ACT:  F&M Bank is hosting ACT prep seminars Saturday, March 24th and Saturday, April 7th.  See Mrs. Stenger by March 8th for the required RSVP information.


Attention 2018-19 Kirkwood Academy students — Students interested in taking Auto Tech academy need to take all three placement tests.  Comp and online courses require Accuplacer and Kirkwood Statistics requires ALEKs.  ACT scores are also accepted in any of these areas with qualifying scores.  Any questions, contact Lisa Folken or Craig Stadtmueller at 465-2302. Tests can also be arranged at this main number.


Attention seniors – the scholarship webpage has been renamed – it’s now called “2018 Scholarship Applications”.  All high school students are encouraged to check this webpage out for applications for local, state and national scholarships.    It is updated often and deadlines are coming up!  Another webpage to check out is the Scholarship Information link and the Other Guidance Information link on the High School Counseling website.  See Mrs Stenger and Mrs Dirks if you have any questions.
