The MHS February Student of the Month is Chase Luensman.  He is a great student who is kind and considerate to all students and staff.  He’s always trying his best academically, and is willing to help other students when needed.  He goes out of his way to show kindness to peers and to make sure everyone feels important and valued as individuals.


It is National FFA Week.

Wednesday is Tractor Day. Tractors must be at Kirkwood at 7:00 am and are leaving for the high school at 7:30 am.

Thursday is “Are You Smarter Than Your Ag Teacher” so go down to Mr. Schmitt’s room during WIN and play games!

On Friday go down to the gym and play Ag Olympics during WIN.

The FFA jacket was adopted as official dress in 1933.  More than 50,000 FFA jackets are manufactured every year.


Order forms for Monticello Girls State Basketball clothing are available at the drive-up window.  ORDERS MUST BE TURNED IN TO THE OFFICE BY 3:15 TOMORROW.


School will still run on schedule next week with classes Monday through ThursdayOn Friday, we have a scheduled staff collaboration day (no school for students).  If you are planning to leave school early on Tuesday, be sure to fill out a planned absence form.


Driver’s Ed registration forms are available at the office drive-up window.    Forms are due in the office by March 1st.


Attention Seniors:  Dare Role Model applications are available at the drive-up window.   DARE Role Models are selected through a strict application process—zero tolerance for alcohol, tobacco, and drugs.  Students must have a good driving record, a 3.0 grade point average, no criminal record, and be role models to their peers and younger students.   Submit applications to the Monticello Police Department by Friday, February 23rd.


Volunteers are needed for Camp Courageous’ Green Bay Packer Tailgate Tour on Wednesday, April 11th.  Ask Mrs. Stenger how to sign up.


Anyone helping to plan the Dance Marathon will meet Wednesday morning at 7:30 am in Mrs. Sandin’s room!


The Dance Marathon is this Saturday, February 24th from 7-11 pm. No outside drinks are allowed and admission to the dance will be cut off at 8 pm. If you are still interested in coming to Dance Marathon but did not buy a shirt you can pay $5 admission to come enjoy the fun.


Attention Seniors:  Jostens will be back at school to deliver your graduation items on Monday, March 5th during lunch.  Please remember that cash or money orders are the only forms of payments accepted on delivery day at school.  If you have any questions, please call 1-800-JOSTENS (567-8367).


Shannon Elementary offers child care during their conferences and needs some help.  If you are interested in earning silver service hours by assisting with child care, please contact Sandy Hinrichs at Shannon, ext 4114.


Interact and Concert Band will meet tomorrow during WIN.

Sophomores interested in taking a free practice ACT test next month, please sign up with Mrs. Stenger by tomorrow!


Kirkwood is hosting a High Tech Girls Day Friday, April 13th.  Attendees will explore labs in software development, network and information security, graphic design, computer hardware repair, and website development.  See Mrs. Stenger for how to register.
