There will be a BPA meeting tomorrow morning at 7:45 a.m. in Mrs. Gassman’s room, #302.

Thank you to everyone that wore pink today to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month for October.   We had an awesome turnout!!

The Academic Awards are scheduled for Tuesday, October 15th at 9:10 am in the auditorium.  The program is listed outside the office.  10th-12th graders should check to see if your name is listed for recognition or award.  See Mrs. Dirks if you have any questions.  Plan on attending to receive your award.  Award winners only will be excused at 8:50 to go to the auditorium.  The students on the Most Improved GPA Qualifiers list do not have to be dismissed early unless they are award winners.

ATTENTION SENIORS – VERY IMPORTANT – The diploma list is posted on the office drive-up window.  PLEASE check your name to be sure that it is the way you want it on your diploma AND how it will be read at your graduation ceremony.  PLEASE speak directly with Mrs. Ralston and let her know that yes, it is okay, or no, that it needs changed.   Diplomas will be ordered Friday with the names spelled as Mrs. Ralston has them.  DEADLINE IS TOMORROW.

Any senior wanting to graduate early must have their applications submitted to Mrs. Young by TOMORROW.

SENIORS:   Senior and baby photos are due DEC. 18 for yearbook.   You can turn in to Mrs. Ralston or Mrs. Woodhouse.

SENIOR PHOTOS GUIDELINES — Because these are new guidelines, any senior pictures already taken this year that fall outside the new guidelines will be considered on a case by case basis and would need administrator approval to be used.  Thank you.

The following are new GUIDELINES FOR SENIOR PHOTOS FOR YEARBOOK:

Head and shoulders only.

Vertical format.

Clothing should conform to school dress code.

Not posed in a reclined position.

No other people, animals, objects/props in photograph.

No sunglasses.

Color or B/W are acceptable.

Submit digitally or write name on back if submitting a hard copy.

Must be received by deadline (before winter break of senior year)

Can be emailed to jane.woodhouse@monticello.k12.ia.us or can be turned in to office window.

Baby photos are optional but must also be submitted by the deadline.  Copies are preferred to original heirloom photos.  Baby pictures not submitted digitally should be labeled on the back with first and last names. 

Pick up your school pictures in the office if you have not received yours yet. 

TOWN HALL on Drugs & Alcohol in our community presented by the Jones County Safe & Healthy Youth Coalition on Tuesday, October 15 at 5:30-8pm at the National Motorcycle Museum, Anamosa.  See the flyers posted around the building.

Community Service Opportunities:

All students are encouraged to keep track of the Guidance Office and Scholarship webpages for updates on important information on ACTs, college or military rep visits, college information and scholarship information and applications.  See Mrs. Stenger or Mrs. Dirks if you have any questions!

October 16– A rep from Mt Mercy University will be in the commons during lunch shifts.  Please stop by and say hi and ask any questions you may have!

November 11th – A rep from Hawkeye Community College will be in the commons during lunch shifts.  Stop by and say hi and ask any questions you may have.

Today’s Lunch:  Chicken & noodles, vegetable medley, pineapple mandarin oranges, roll & butter, and milk.

Activities:        Volleyball here vs Regina 6:00.
